We have enjoyed the third week of our wind and water unit. We enjoyed pretending to visit and work at a pet store in our dramatic play center and we also had fun looking for treasures in blocks of ice where we found some neat items!
We will continue exploring wind and water next week. Some interesting concepts we will cover include:
- Water soaks into, or is absorbed by some things, but is repelled by others.
- Water evaporates from puddles and things that are wet.
Next week, we will continue reading two books, The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats and A Hat for Minerva Louise by Janet Morgan Stoeke.
Just a reminder that we still try and play outside whenever weather permits – so be sure your child has snowpants, warm mittens/gloves, hats and winter boots! Thanks!
HELLO! My name is Candice Baglio, a new face here at the Mackworth Island Preschool. I am a graduate student from Boston University for Deaf Education and will be student teaching with Cathy for twelve weeks. I am originally from New Jersey but love living here in Maine. I have been enjoying getting to know all of your children and look forward to teaching all of them, too!
Important Dates: February 16th- February 20th (Winter Break No School)
Have a wonderful weekend!
