…our teachers let us paint on the table.
Earlier this month we were preparing for an art exhibit. We gathered and mounted the children’s artwork in anticipation of the GBSD Art Show. Then it snowed. Again. The show was postponed until later this spring (which gives us more time for more art!).
However, one of the art projects we did specifically for the show was Table Prints. We had to convince the kids that they absolutely would not get in trouble for painting on the table!
We had them choose two to three colors and encouraged them to get messy! They spread out the paint, using their hands, in their designated areas.
Once they were satisfied with their designs we had them place a piece of blank paper on top of the wet paint. With clean, delicate hands the children gently rubbed the backside of their paper to produce a print. When they peeled back the paper…
…it was like magic! The kids enjoyed themselves so much and have asked to do this project again. Please stay tuned for a Snow Date for the art exhibit. We’d really love for you all to attend and see the fabulous work done by your budding artists.
