ESY – Weeks 1 & 2

The first two weeks of ESY (summer school) went by so fast because we were having so much fun! We read the book, “Planting a Rainbow,” by Lois Ehlert and discussed the process of growing flowers from seeds. We also reviewed the different colors and types of flowers. The children made flowers from cardboard tubes and egg cartons. They turned out to be beautiful and we are enjoying the colorful artwork in our classroom!

The weather outdoors has been glorious, so we’ve held center time outdoors a couple of times.

So sunny out, shades are necessary!

If it’s too hot or rainy out, we have center time indoors. From puzzles to coloring pictures of flowers to playing kitchen to exploring colors using manipulatives, there’s plenty to do!

Once a week, when it’s warm out, we have water play – sprinkler, pool, and water slide! The children tremendously enjoyed the water slide!

Water fun! Whee! My turn! Loving this! Again! Fun! Whee! Slide! Sliding time!

That was only two weeks’ worth of fun! Check back in for more pictures for the last two weeks of ESY, where we focus on gardening! Stay cool in the meantime!
