Early Childhood & Family Focus
Become part of a family-centered team supporting children with hearing loss, birth through age five, throughout Maine. Your region will be southern and coastal Maine. This is a full-time, 195-day outreach position based out of the Maine Educational Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Falmouth, Maine.
Responsibilities include providing
- Home visits and facilitation of discussions related to hearing loss, communication and language development, communication options/oportunities and overall child development for families of children with hearing loss birth to age five
- Collaboration with early childhood agencies and providers
- On-site observations of and consultations to early childhood programs
- Consultation, inservice training andsupport for teachers, caregivers and professionals
Minimum Qualifications: |
- Eligibility for Maine Teacher of the Deaf certification, Masters Degree preferred
- Education background and experience in early childhood and parent education
- Prior experience teaching children who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing
- Willingness to support parent choices
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Salary: |
$30,800 - $50,100 annually dependent on qualifications and experience |
