Evaluation/ Assessment Team
A comprehensive team evaluation can be one of the most important tools an IEP team can have to help guide them in developing a quality educational program. When working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, selecting appropriate assessment instruments and procedures, conducting evaluations, and accurately interpreting results is a unique challenge. At MECDHH / GBSD we are fortunate to have professionals in key disciplines with extensive training and experience in meeting this challenge.
We offer comprehensive team evaluations including educational audiology, psycho-educational, speech and language, academic achievement, and ASL components. These services are offered to school districts on a fee for service basis. The referral and evaluation process includes communication with the student’s parents and IEP team, collection of background information, development of referral questions, observations, team meetings, scheduling and reporting.
For additional information about services available from MECDHH / GBSD’s Evaluation Team or to make a referral, please contact Eileen Peterson, Coordinator of Student Services, at 781 – 6204.
