Litchfield Fair’s Wheeler’s Wee Farmer with the help of Sabattus Garden Club is giving Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) kids in PreK – 6th Grade (12 years old) the opportunity to be FARMERS! During the summer, Wee Gardener’s Club will send emails with tips and tricks for growing your garden. We will also ask for updates and photos of gardens, if you’d like to share. We will ask for input from our Wee Gardeners about their gardens such as: what plants are growing well, what plants are not, if they have been able to harvest anything, what vegetables they have eaten, and which ones they liked best.
MECDHH and Maine Hands & Voices will be joining the 2026 Litchfield Fair for our DHH Family Fun Day on Saturday, September 12th. With the Wee Gardener program in motion, we will have student farmers showcase their produce with a special exhibit. Their hard work will be rewarded with special ribbons and premium payouts.
